From each one of these sessions, I have learned something new and these are the best tips I can give you for preparation!
Providing you follow these tips, I am confident that your session will run smoothly, you’ll feel great and we’ll be really efficient!
Here’s how you should prepare for your session!
Check out some examples online
So, either look through the examples that are on this site, or take a look at websites like Pinterest or use Google Images to find examples of the kinds of results you are looking for. It’s always helpful to save these examples to your phone or send them across to me so that I know for sure what you want!
Prepare your outfits in advance
It’s a good idea to know what you’ll be wearing on the day, so you should prepare your outfits at least 1 day before you’re session is due. The last thing you want is to start panicking about what to wear when you have just spent all that time doing your hair and making yourself look great!
Try not to eat too much before your session
There’s nothing wrong with having a little snack or some breakfast before your shoot, but make sure you have enough time for your food to settle. You want to be feeling fresh and energetic as well as looking your best. Eating too much before your session can have a few negative effects on the results, definitely one to consider.
Remove unnecessary clothing tags
You don’t have to do this, but it certainly will help when it comes to the post-production phase of your photos. If you’re able to successfully hide your tags, great! If you think you’re able to remove them without any problems, even better! Clothing tags are a nightmare to work with in post-production and it’s always great to get the images back to you as soon as possible!
You’re not being judged
One of the most common concerns of people that take part in Boudoir Photo Sessions is that they will be judged by me or anyone working with me. That’s not the case, I promise! We’re all adults, we’ve seen it all before and the aim for these sessions are to make you feel confident, you have nothing to worry about!
Arrive at least 10 minutes before
If you arrive at exactly the time your session starts, we will end up talking into the time that you photo session could be taking place. You are going to need to prepare yourself and get ready, this is definitely something you could do a few minutes before your session is due to start so that you’re not rushed!
Enjoy yourself!
So, this entire session and the reason I took up portrait photography in the first place was because it’s FUN! I get to meet great people, make them feel great about themselves and have some fun while at the same time doing what I love! There will be bad jokes, laughter and some general conversation… you may even forget why you’re even there! So let loose, enjoy the experience and be yourself!
